High altitude and the sliders

A three day weekend that we decided to turn into four and we headed up to the mountains. At first I was worried about taking the twins (we've taken to calling them the "sliders (mini-burgers)" up to the mountains, because I've heard that one shouldn't go to high altitude during pregnancy so I called my perinatalogist. And she said that as long as I don't ski and get crazy that I can spend weekends up in the mountains and that a lot of the information out there is incorrect. So I believe her.

We got into Crested Butte in the evening and our condo is beautiful!

I can't ski but I can send the folks off on a beautiful bluebird day!

I was thinking of snowshoeing while I was here but last night my resting heart rate was hovering around 100 beats per minute. I went up the stairs at the condo (slowly) and my heart rate was 132! I got all worried again until my man told me that normal resting heart rates are 60-80 and the the lovely Internet told me that pregnant heart rates are 30-50% higher than normal rates. Either way, I decided to take it slow today.

I headed into town for a coffee and some knitting.

On our first night in the condo folks made lasagna and apple crisp and the apple crisp smelled like a cinnamon roll. It was killing me because we had to wait for a couple of folks to arrive before we ate and at one point I decided that Imight die if I didn't get a cinnamon roll. So this morning, the jolly (shout out to Claire) coffee shop had cinnamon rolls!

And I ended up buying the local paper too. Although the coffee shop wouldn't take my 50 cents because she "wouldn't even know where to put it"

And my horoscope was pretty interesting. I'll paraphrase: you won't encounter any monsters, vampires or ghosts in 2011 but that doesn't mean that your year will be boring, in fact just the opposite.

The sliders are coming!
